The main difference between the two telescopes is the price tag as the aperture size. The Astromaster 130EQ has an aperture of 130mm while the PowerSeeker 127EQ has a 127mm aperture. Both are Newtonian reflector telescopes made by Celestron, but from different series as their names imply, Astromaster and PowerSeeker. Also the EQ in their name suggest an Equalorial mount. When it comes to the price tag the AstroMaster 130EQ is usually has about a 30% higher price tag, which is justified from the nicer fine details that the AstroMaster range is known for in comparison to the PowerSeeker.
If you’re considering buying one or the other, remember that both telescopes can become more of a value purchase when combined with the various bonus accessories. In our comparison we used the PowerSeeker 127EQ that comes with a phone adapter as a bonus.
